This privacy policy sets out how Scampdoodles Charity uses and protects any information that you give Scampdoodles Charity when you use this website.

Scampdoodles Charity is committed to ensuring that your privacy is protected. Should we ask you to provide certain information by which you can be identified when using this website, then you can be assured that it will only be used in accordance with this privacy statement.

Scampdoodles Charity may change this policy from time to time by updating this page. You should check this page from time to time to ensure that you are happy with any changes. This policy is effective from 5 April 2018. 

1. Who we are 
Scampdoodles Charity is a registered charity 1170674. Our objects are The relief of those in need, by reason of youth, age, ill-health, disability, financial or other disadvantage by providing care, support, education, facilities, respite care, equipment, recreational and leisure-time activities, practical advice and in particular tailored services for the reception, care and treatment of their animals which are in need of care and attention due to their owners’ specific needs and circumstances in England, Scotland, Wales and Ireland (the charity trustees will support people of any age who are terminally ill, or disabled, or undergoing medical treatment, or who have special educational needs, or who are living in poverty, or who are isolated and/or socially excluded from society or part of society due to social and/or economic circumstances and who have charitable needs).
To promote humane behaviour towards animals by providing appropriate care, protection, treatment and security for animals which are in need of care and attention due to their owner’s specific needs and circumstances; and to educate the public in matters pertaining to animal welfare in general and the prevention of cruelty and suffering among animals.

2. What information do we collect about you?

The types of information we might collect includes names, addresses, next of kin or family connections if made known to us, email, telephone details, dates of birth, communication preferences and things you may be interested in. We also hold records of your donations and fundraising efforts alongside the communications that we have had with you. Occasionally we may work with marketing agencies to help refine our communications to make them more cost effective and relevant to whom we send them to. This may be done by enhancing the information that we hold about you or about where you live. For example information from census data such as council tax bands and age. We may occasionally source additional information from database marketing companies that hold information on you which may indicate levels of wealth.
This approach helps us to be efficient with our fundraising efforts through cost effective, relevant, appropriate and timely communications. The purpose of these communications are to keep you up to date with news of and future developments at Scampdoodles, to tell you more about how your donations and support help those we help and to highlight other ways in which you can choose to support our work including lottery, raffles, cash or building appeals, regular giving, community and challenge events to corporate engagement.
We can only contact you in this way with your consent and if you are happy to receive communications from us. You have the right at any time to change your communication preferences through your account.
Please be assured that Sampdoodles never has and never will share, swap or sell your personal information with any other organisation. We are extremely grateful for your support and will always respect your right to privacy.
It is very important however that we continue to raise awareness of our charitable status and high-dependency on voluntary donations to keep our vital services free of charge.    
3. How do you use my information?
We will use your data to provide you with the information, products or services you have requested, for administrative and statistical purposes, to provide care and support tailored to your needs, to fundraise and further our charitable aims and comply with the law.       
We will highlight at the time of capturing your information, if it is to be used for different and non-compatible purposes to those described above or those that you would not reasonably expect.      
We may need to share your personal information with our trading subsidiaries, service providers, associated organisations and agents for our own purposes. This will be done only where necessary, under formal non-disclosure agreement and only after strict due diligence processes have been followed to ensure that those we work with support our charitable aims and objectives.
Non-disclosure agreements are designed to protect information security and your confidentiality and sets strict obligations as to the use of that information. Any information that is shared with those described above is through security systems like NHS mail, secure file transfer portals and use of encryption. They contain contractual clauses relating to the length of time that information can be held for and strict guidelines as to the safe destruction of the information.
There may be occasions where personal sensitive information is anonymised before use for administrative and statistical purposes at the Hospice or shared with other NHS service providers. When information is anonymised it means we protect your confidentiality by removing any information that could identify you as an individual.       
We will not share, sell or swap your personal information with any organisation or third party for their own marketing or fundraising purposes.     
4. How do you protect my personal information?
Scampdoodles takes information governance and security seriously. We have robust technical and organisational systems in place to manage and protect your personal information. These measures include data encryption, up to date security software to ensure confidentiality and to guard against unauthorised access, unlawful processing, accidental loss, damage or destruction.    
5. Marketing and Consent 
We would like to send you information that may be of interest to you and may help to further our charitable aims, to keep you up to date about how we spend your donations, to provide you with news, updates or information about our latest developments.      
We will only send you information if you have consented for us to contact you in this way. You have the right to update your communication preferences or stop communications at any time by amending your profile information. We will also endeavor to provide this statement on all marketing communications.      
Access to information

We want to make sure that your information is accurate and up to date. You have the right to correct or remove information that you think is inaccurate.
